Kampot Wraps Up Jabs For First Dose

Kampot: Ministry of Health spokesperson and Chairwoman of the National Ad-hoc Commission for Covid-19 Vaccination, Or Vandine, has presided over the closing ceremony of the first dose vaccination campaign for people aged 18 and above in Kampot.

She says Kampot is one of the provinces which is behind the schedule of the national vaccination campaign with other provinces likely to achieve their goals and close their vaccination campaigns within the month to be able to start administering booster shots. She says it’s been a challenge for medical practitioners to vaccinate some people who live in Kampot’s more remote areas.

The Health Ministry says, nationally, there are still about 70,000 out of the 10 million adults who have not been vaccinated at all due to health conditions and others had to wait because they’d been infected with Covid-19.

As of 21 October, there are 13.63 million out of the targeted 14.5 Cambodians who have received their first dose of vaccine putting the Kingdom on track to achieve herd immunity in the coming weeks.
